Thor has been a key player in the urban redevelopment world for the last 22 years, specializing in project management and community development.
Thor most recently worked on the Parkmerced
development project and for the 10 years previous to
that was the Hunters Point Shipyard Project Manager
with the former San Francisco Redevelopment Agency, now the Office of Community Investment and Infrastructure or OCII.
At OCII Thor oversaw the implementation and administration of the Shipyard project; serving as a liaison between the community, the Mayor's office, the Navy, and the project’s developers (Lennar Urban) and coordinating the real estate, community and economic development, affordable housing, parks, and public art projects.
Thor has experience with projects using federal, state, and local grants, bonds, and tax credits.
Outside of work, he also contributes to his community by volunteering and mentoring foster children as well as serving as a board member of the historic Bayview Opera House in Bayview Hunters Point.
Thor received his MBA from Baruch College and his BA from the John Jay College of Criminal Justice.
Project manager on Hunters Point Shipyard; City of New York in their Operations Office, Budget Office, Office of Emergency Management during the 9-11 disaster and lastly at Homeless Services where he served as a senior development manager overseeing the development of transitional housing and other transitional institutional facilities.
